Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
1. Information We Collect
- Personal information: your name, email address, profile picture, and other information you provide when creating your account.
- Child information: with parental consent, children's first names, ages, and interests — used only to provide age-appropriate suggestions. Children's full details are kept on private records visible only to their parent.
- Location data: when you enable location services, we use your location to find nearby activities and playdates. Precise location is never shown publicly.
- Usage information: how you use the app — features used and interactions — to improve the service.
- Purchase information: subscription status for PlaydatesGo Plus, processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Service provision: to provide, maintain, and improve PlaydatesGo, including organizing playdates and connecting families.
- Communication: to send notifications about playdates, friend requests, invites, and other app activity.
- Safety: to protect the safety and security of our users, especially children.
- Personalization: to suggest relevant activities, places, and connections (for example, weather-aware activity suggestions).
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
- With other users: your profile information and playdate details are shared only with the families involved, based on your privacy settings. Playdates are visible only to their host, invitees, and attendees.
- Service providers: we use trusted providers (such as Google Firebase for data storage and Apple for payments) to operate the service.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect safety and security.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we show no ads.
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
- We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We require verifiable parental consent before collecting information from children under 13.
- Parents can review, update, and delete their child's information at any time from within the app.
- Child information is private by default: other families see at most an age, interests, and — only if the parent opts in — a first name.
- See our Children's Privacy page for details.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Access: review your personal information in your account settings.
- Correction: update or correct your information at any time.
- Deletion: delete your account in the app (You → Data Management); this removes your profile, playdates, messages, photos, and children's information from our systems.
- Portability: export your data in a machine-readable format from the app.
- Privacy controls: control what other families can see through your privacy settings.
6. Data Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, per-user access rules on all stored data, verified email requirements, and regular security reviews. Sensitive family details (children's information, precise locations, contact details) are stored on private records accessible only to the owning parent.
